Marine. Councilman. Community Advocate.

Steve Sanchez is a United States Marine Corps combat veteran, commercial real estate professional, and proven community leader.

He’s running for Riverside County Supervisor to ensure every community in the fourth District has the strong basics people deserve: reliable healthcare, safe neighborhoods, and infrastructure that supports responsible growth.

A Marine’s Mission of Service

A first-generation Californian by choice, Steve enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at 18. Over eight years of service, he served in the infantry as a Rifleman, Mortarman, and Light Armored Reconnaissance Scout. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, he deployed as part of the ground invasion and earned the Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, and other commendations.
After his service, Steve chose the Coachella Valley as his home because he saw a community worth fighting for.

From Service to Solutions

After the Marines, Steve built a career rooted in discipline, accountability, and results. He worked in telecommunications, government service, and media before transitioning into commercial real estate, where he helps local property owners and investors strengthen communities and create opportunity throughout the district.

That same results-driven mindset defines his leadership in public service.

A Proven Local Leader

As a La Quinta City Councilman, Steve has earned a reputation as a leader who shows up, listens, and delivers. His regional leadership reflects the trust and respect of his peers across Riverside County, having been selected as one of only two city council members countywide to serve on both the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) and the Airport Land Use Commission (ALUC).

His regional leadership includes service on:

  • Riverside County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) — Commissioner

  • California LAFCO (CALAFCO) — Board Member

  • Riverside County Airport Land Use Commission (ALUC) — Vice Chair

  • Southern California Association of Governments Regional Council (SCAG) — District 66 Representative

  • SCAG Transportation Committee — Member

  • Coachella Valley Animal Campus Commission (CVACC) — Vice Chair

  • La Quinta Housing Authority — Member

  • Coachella Valley Veterans Coalition (CVVC) — Founder

  • Joint Powers Insurance Authority (JPIA) — City Representative

  • Coachella Valley Association of Governments (CVAG) — Member

He has also served as Chairman of the Indio Chamber of Commerce, Board Member of the La Quinta Chamber of Commerce, Board Member for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Desert, and Graduate of Leadership Coachella Valley.

In 2018, Steve was recognized as Veteran of the Year by both California’s 28th Senate District and 42nd Assembly District for his leadership, service, and continued dedication to the community. Most recently, he was honored with the 2025 Defender of Housing Award by the Building Industry Association’s Coachella Valley Chapter, recognizing his commitment to responsible growth, housing opportunity, and policies that strengthen local communities.

Ready to Serve Again

Steve is running for Supervisor because this district deserves strong representation and real solutions. Whether it’s expanding access to emergency care in Blythe, improving transportation corridors, reducing strain on local hospital systems, strengthening public safety, or ensuring responsible growth that protects the desert’s character, Steve brings the discipline, integrity, and work ethic to deliver.

Grounded in Values, Driven by Purpose
Guided by Marine Corps values and a lifelong commitment to service, Steve begins every morning before sunrise, training, walking his three rescue dogs, and preparing to meet the day with focus and resolve.

He believes the job of a County Supervisor is simple but sacred: listen first, serve selflessly, and put people before politics.

Steve Sanchez is ready to continue serving. He’s ready to lead.
